DLM wanted to send customers directly to Amazon and boots using affiliate links as well as offering an option to buy on their online store.
DLM wanted to extend their site nationally to 4 countries allowing users to buy their product overseas.
The old website was designed to be more of a blog rather than a shop, so it was hard for users to purchase online. The product pages were hidden from the navigation and only accessible on certain pages.
The old site had over 40 out of date plugins enabled which caused a slow loading time and opened the site up to possible security errors.
Using the current theme, we created a child theme which acted as a fallback system for the current theme. This prevents the site breaking when the parent theme is updated.
We then listed all plugins used on the site and reviewed each one carefully, breaking down the functionality needed. We then included custom codes to the theme meaning we could disable the plugins. A multi-language plugin was implemented to make the site available in different languages and currencies. As a result, we managed to get the site down to a manageable 15 plugins.
We also included packshots and lists of products throughout the site to ensure the customer that they can buy online from this award-winning retailer.
