Ivory Isle Designs originally started on Etsy, the online store for crafts and creations. They then decided to start blogging about their successes which became very popular. As a result, they wanted to move on to create their own online store. The store needed to fit around the blog which became a problem.
Products were hard to search for or filter and the pricing engine was configured incorrectly which caused the card stock to change whenever a QTY was selected. This would be frustrating for users and they would then go back to Etsy to purchase.
We diagnosed the site and the problem carefully, creating another custom theme to work with. The CMS we used was Woocommerce. The structure of category pages was changed to be easily searchable, so now the user can shop by style, choose a theme and filter the remaining products by colour.
Once the user has found their product, they can start customising their design, choosing anything from cardstock to envelope colour. The pricing engine was configured at this level. The previous problem IID had was the more the QTY, the less the product is per card. The engine was not configured to work this way and displayed a more expensive price than on the Etsy store. So we customised a pricing discount per QTY and now the more the user selects, the less the product is. Furthermore, the additional options are added at a price per card level.
We also added a mega menu meaning the frontend user can now start their search from the first-page, rather than digging through pages trying to find what they are looking for.
Since this change IID’s revenue has gone up more than 150%.
